The 2018 Oscars Trends
The Oscars: A Pinnacle of Glamour and Style
The Oscars never fail to set the stage for the year’s top jewellery trends. In 2018, celebrities dazzled us with their choices of stacked tennis bracelets, statement-coloured jewellery, and elegant drop earrings. Let’s explore these trends that shone brightly on the red carpet.
Stacked Tennis Bracelets
Stacked tennis bracelets were a popular choice this year among celebs, and we can understand why! Why wear one bracelet when you can wear several?! A delicate tennis bracelet looks so elegant on its own, and if you want a bigger look, it’s so easy to stack with others.
Ashley Judd wowed in her custom purple Badgley Mischka gown with white diamond earrings featuring 10.17 carats set in 18-carat white gold. She enhanced her look with a circa-1930 necklace of diamonds set in platinum and 1939 stacked bracelets of diamonds in platinum.
The hilarious Jennifer Lawrence made an awesome feminist fashion statement by wearing a glittering Dior gown from the house’s recent Pre-Fall collection. Designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, one of the few creative heads of a major fashion house, the gown resembled chainmail, underscoring the power of a woman’s strength. Her jewels were understated and designed by Niwaka Collections. Her accessories may be subtle, however, her look was undoubtedly gorgeous.
Viola Davis was an absolute vision in over 100 carats worth of diamonds. Her jewellery complemented her hot pink Michael Kors gown beautifully.
Elizabeth Moss shone brightly in over 50 carats worth of jewellery, with her diamond bracelets being approximately 33.42 carats alone!

Coloured Jewellery
There is nothing better than a statement-coloured jewellery piece to complement any outfit. This year’s Oscars saw the stars doing exactly this!
Emily Blunt was among the night’s most glamorous, with her aqua-toned Schiaparelli gown. She paired her gown with earrings featuring pear-shaped aquamarines totalling 30.96 carats set in titanium. She wore a ring featuring a 12.92-carat aquamarine set in 18-carat white gold. Another ring features a 5.11-carat pear-shaped aquamarine, .59 carats of diamonds, a .34-carat amethyst, and .33 carats of pear-shaped tanzanites, all set in 18-carat white gold.
Helen Mirren’s blue gown by Reem Acra was elegantly simple, allowing her necklace to be the true showstopper. The piece is crafted from 115.27 carats of cushion-cut sapphires in platinum. She also wore cushion-cut sapphire and diamond earrings.
With her haute couture satin Louis Vuitton tuxedo, Emma Stone wore earrings featuring Mandarin garnets totalling more than 11 carats, accented with white diamonds and set in 18-carat white gold.
